The community of Port O’Connor has survived another 4th! And what a day it was! With surrounding beaches in our area closed. King Fisher Park & Beach was overloaded. So many people enjoyed the Annual Fireworks Display.
Thanks to Donnie Haynes and crew for working all day to make it happen. Thanks to all who made donations; there were none too small or large; all were appreciated! Without the donations, there would be no Fireworks Display. You, the people, makes it happen.

What a good crowd we had. Driving around, it seemed everyone cleaned up from the fireworks. We so appreciate the pride our residents and visitors have for our community.

Not sure if you heard, the commissioners approved to authorize the Historical Commission, in conjunction with
the Port O’Connor Chamber of Commerce and its Historical Committee, headed up by Brent Hart, to erect a silhouette of a life-size North American AT-6 plane and pilot on the ground adjacent to the Port O’Connor Community Center. There is so much history in and around Port O’Connor. Our library had a program on the Indians that had settled in this area; the area provided  all the resources.  This area has so much to provide for survival, it was an amazing program.

Remember the Memorial Day activities have been moved to September 5th, that is, if nothing happens to prolong things. That’s the Annual Kids Fishing Tournament and Kite Contest. So start making your plans for a great weekend.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend monthly Chamber meetings, 2nd Monday of each month, 6:30 pm, at Port O’Connor Community Center,
