Holy Hell its Hot! No way I’m wearing a mask, I will pass out! Anyway, Fishing is hot also. Summer time patterns are in full swing. At this time, the tide is way out and the Towing Business has been good. Make sure you stay in the deep channels. Also there have been a few close calls with kids floating off the front beach when the tides are moving swiftly. It would never hurt to always check tide schedules in the area you will be beaching. Another incident is with kayaks. There was a kayaker that was traversing the open Bay. West Maddy gets angry with North Winds and incoming tides. The kayaker was in open water and tipped over. Luckily there was a boater that was able to assist the yak. Every kayaker needs to know their limitations, physical and mental, then you also need to check the tide schedules. We have several kayak incidents every year similar to this and its due to lack of preparation. The best I can figure and suggest is if you choose to kayak in the bay you need to practice and work out with the yak. You can’t just get it and go. Always check the weather, tide and practice before you trek down here to the Bay.

Fishing is the best and most essential sport for the Covid PanDammit. The fresh Salty Air does wonders for your soul and your respiratory system. You know how I know. I don’t wear a mask and been fishing during the whole hoax plus been going to Mexico Dove Hunting. That’s right my buddy Richard Grammer with Mexico White Tail and Wing. He had a great operation in Sabinas. It’s a nice clean town about 1½ hours south of the Laredo. He meets you at the Airport and off you go for an awesome adventure, Wing Shooting or Whitetail. I have a group going the last week of July and then I have to get my Mexico Dove Lodge ready for the August Opener. It’s already a great year with many birds on the Milo fields eating milo off the stalks.

Hey give me a call even if you want to go for two days. Its real simple, all you need is a Passport and Pesos.
Today was the Little Mullet Tournament which was a great time for approximately 50 kids in Calhoun County. There was a 60+ inch stingray that took the wind out of my kiddo team for biggest fish overall. Then I switched to smallest fish and was leading with a 5 inch Piggy. Hey I’m proud of any win, big or small. Hey my proudest moment was Kyle’s Empire Lodge Mikes Hard Lemonade DEAD LAST TROPHY!!!! “If you ain’t 1st you are last!” What Movie??? Hey it’s a proud moment. I’m crossing my fingers my young fishing buddy wins at least the smallest fish category. We will see.

Hey, the Mexico Border is open and super safe. If you want to burn gun barrels and can’t wait for September, give me a call and I will hook you up. It’s funny that Mexico is now safer than the USA. Actually its sorta sad.
Special thanks to all the Local Businesses that supported the Little Mullet Tournament in these tough times. We all appreciate it because sponsoring anything this year is a true blessing.

Give me a shout if you want to go listen to screaming reels or go melt some gun barrels.
