Attendees at the November “Hooked On Books” meeting were treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres, biscuits stuffed with ham, desserts, and various beverages by Hostesses Michelle Lippold, Beverly Brown, and Judy Overton. After eating and visiting, we discussed November’s Book, “Trials of the Earth”, by Mary Hamilton- a true story about her life as a pioneer woman who helped settle the Mississippi Delta. The book told of the incredible hardships, extreme poverty, and never ending strife that she endured throughout her entire life, but also how her fighting spirit and strong work ethic helped her survive it all!! All agreed it was an excellent read, and we thoroughly enjoyed the festivities and the food!! Thank you Michelle, Beverly, and Judy!!!

December’s meeting will be held on December 8, 2020 at 1:00 PM, Potluck Lunch, followed by our Book Discussion of “Christmas Jars Reunion” by Jason F. Wright. In keeping with the Spirit of the Holidays, we will also do a fun “Chinese Gift Exchange” for those who want to participate!!
