Hello Fellow Republicans,
Russell Cain graciously allowed a second meeting at his business to discuss all things political. The meeting went well, and a few facts came to the surface.
Geoff Hunt is clearly a Republican; he attended and expressed good points on local politics and Calhoun County Reepublican Club involvement within the elections process.
Cindy Alford brought attention to her candidacy for School Board – Precinct 5
Terri McGuire announced her candidacy for the School Board – Precinct 5
Each candidate took a few minutes to talk about their vision, values, and experiences that qualify them for the board.
Marty Strakos announced his candidacy for the Calhoun Port Authority – Precinct 1
There was some spirited debate about the many moving parts the CCRC manages and how it would be good to meet and greet all precinct captains. The premise continued for new folks to meet all officeholders who are Republican, put a name with a face, and hear from their perspective how to drive more people into the party for a stronger voice.
There is a definite excitement in the air for the March 1st monthly general meeting, 6:00 p.m., at the Red Barn.
Post it up on your social media, talk about it, brings a friend or two.
Items discussed for future general or special meeting agendas could include the following: A debate on the effectiveness of office holders that are multi-term and long term, CCRP bylaws, State guidelines, State training for Republican organizers and officers, Organizational flow chart, Voter registration drives, inviting office holders to discuss views, positions and decisions that affect the public.
The meeting concluded with a positive sense of unity and clarity that was informative and explored new challenges that lay ahead.
Thank you to everyone in attendance.
Chris Mapp
