Elbert E. “Gene” Hunter, 84, of Port O’Connor, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 in Port Lavaca. He was born on September 24, 1936 in Dunbar, West Virginia to the late Raymond E. and Myrtle Bessie Lee Hunter. Elbert was a member of the United States Air Force and the United States Army. Throughout his life, Elbert traveled all over the world and worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was a Convention Manager in Washington, D.C., and worked for Rivas Business Forms, until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, Elbert is preceded in death by his wife, Julie R. Hunter, and brother, Darris Lee Hunter.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Hunter Gildart of Florida, and grandson, James Hunter Gildart of California.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Port O’Connor Cemetery with full Military Honors.
