“Beacon of Light…Anchor of the Community”

As we launch into Fall, the POC Library has been a bustling place with Patrons accessing library services, monthly Adult and Children’s Programs, meetings by different organizations, etc. The six week “Master of Memory” Course is underway, with three more sessions to go: October 15, October 22, and October 29, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 AM in the Library’s Multipurpose Room. The program is presented by Karen Lyssy, with the Calhoun County Extension Agency. Also, the Mahjongg Group will be meeting on Fridays from 1-3:30 PM for in the Multipurpose Room. All are welcome!

The Friends of the Port O’ Connor Library will be hosting their weekly “Coffee and Conversation” Sessions every Wednesday from 8:00-9:00 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room, and all are encouraged to attend!!

November’s Children’s Program will be a fun Thanksgiving Feast, and will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, 10:00-11:30 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room.

November’s Adult Program will be “The Matagorda Lighthouse” by Brent Hart on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. There will be refreshments from 6:00-6:30 PM, and the presentation will be from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Multipurpose Room. It promises to be a very interesting and informative program about the history of the Lighthouse!! All are welcome!!
