This has been another busy month at First Baptist Church POC. The 25th Sweetheart Banquet has come and gone. It was a wonderful evening enjoyed by everyone who came, plus a number of our ill and homebound citizens who had meals delivered by Jim Cooley and Pat Eckstrom. Thank you to both of them for taking up this special deed. Lots of work went into making the evening a success Thank you to all who contributed their time and energy this year. There are too many names to list singly, but many POC Community Service Club members played a big part in the preparations. What a wonderful group of ladies and their husbands. Certainly, I can add FBC church members to the list. There was lots of decorating, cooking and laughing going on for the three days before the banquet. It is hoped that all who attended felt all the love that went into making it a memorable event.
FBC Team Kids held on Wednesdays at 5:30 continues going strong. Each week FBC church van picks up a full load and others are brought by their parents. They come to eat and learn about the Bible. If you know a child in Kindergarten through fifth grade that would like to be part of this, call the church at 361-983-2727.
If you are old fashioned like me and still like to pay for some things by check, are you finally used to writing 2022 on the date line? If so, that means the year is speeding by. February is half over. Where have all those days gone and what were we doing? What does this have to do with FBC, you wonder? Since the year is moving along so quickly, we need to start thinking about Easter on April 17, and the Kingfisher Beach Sunrise Community Church Service. It is always attended by several hundred people and is wonderful way to start that special day off. On Easter Eve, FBC has an egg hunt for toddlers through fifth graders on the church grounds. Make plans to reserve your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors and have them in POC for this wonderful weekend. If you need an Easter basket, free ones will be available at the church. After the hunt, Punch and cookies will be served in the FBC Fellowship Hall.
Several events go on at FBC each week. Come and be a part of it all. We are waiting to welcome you.
