We have been very busy planning for our 10th Annual Crawfish Festival which will be April 30th with gates opening at 10:00 am. This year we introduced a pre-sale for admissions so you can avoid the lines on Saturday. You will have until April 27th to make purchases online. You can pick up your admission wristbands on Friday afternoon from 3-6 at the front beach pavilion or Saturday at the will-call entry. https://portoconnorchamber.com/local-events/crawfishfestivalpresale/ Entry wristbands will also be available, for purchase, April 25-29 at the First National Bank in Port O’ Connor.
The festival continues to grow, and we strive to make it more enjoyable each year. To free up space and allow more tables and seating under the pavilion, we have consolidated ticket sales and beer purchases in a different area. You will now be able to purchase beer tokens, crawfish plate tickets and grab a cold beer under a large tent on the other side of the bathrooms closer to the cookers.
If you love crawfish and want to get a great variety of different flavors, you need to plan on participating in the People’s Choice Event. For $20.00 you will be given a different color wrist band and tokens to vote on what you think is the best crawfish. This year we will have forty-one crawfish cooking teams for you to visit. They are all competing for that people’s choice prize and your vote will help decide that winning team. If you don’t want to walk around and do the People’s Choice event, or if you are not full enough, you can purchase three-pound plates of crawfish with all the fixings for $20.00.
The kids fishing tournament and kite flying contest will be May 28, 2022 from 8:00-3:00 pm. Visit our website to register for the fishing tournament at kidsfish@portoconnorchamber.com or in person beginning at 7:30 am on the day of. Age categories are 3-6, 7-10, and 11-12. The kite flying contest is open to all ages and registration will begin at 12:30 after the fishing tournament.
