Virgil Redding, a lifelong Port O’Connor resident, and his wife Wanda, who’s been here since 1969, have pulled up stakes and moved way off to East Texas to be near their son Jeremiah and his family.
Virgil and Wanda have been an important part of our community and will surely be missed. Virgil was a member of our Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years, serving at one time as Fire Chief. He was also our Constable for 15 years. He retired after 34 years working for Calhoun County Precinct 4.
Wanda was employed at POC Hardware for 33 years. She seemed to know about everything anyone would need to complete a do-it-yourself job. She will be greatly missed.
We wish Virgil and Wanda the best of luck as they begin building their home in East Texas.
