Fall is here in name only. Its hard to tell when one season ends and the next begins in POC. When school starts and Labor Day passes on the calendar, we know it’s fall in Texas!

We’re as busy as ever at FBC. TEAM KIDS is off to a very good start. The bus picks up a full load each Wednesday, but we still have room for more. The first Wednesday evening, tacos were on the menu and nearly 30 youth were served. If you have a child in kindergarten through fifth grade that would enjoy dinner, Bible study, crafts and recreation, you can get information on the FBC Facebook site or contact the church st 361-983-2727.

We had planned to give out free hot dogs at front beach on Saturday of Labor Day weekend, but bad weather cancelled our plans. Now we have lots of hotdogs in the church freezer! We have a Birthday Bash planned for September 24, at 6:00 p.m. Looks like hot dogs and pot luck are on the menu for that event. Yum! Mark the date on your calendar and be there to enjoy some great food and fellowship.

We have been busy collecting items for the Samaritan’s Purse Shoe Box Project. The delivery date of the first week in November is fast approaching. If you would like to be part of this ministry, we need volunteers to donate items for the boxes, money to mail the boxes, and hands to help fill the boxes. Contact Diane Cooley (903-467-6335) or FBC for more information.

The Food Pantry serves an ongoing need in POC. Please donate non perishable items. They will be greatly appreciated.
