Happy Fall, y’all!! Coo!er temperatures are here and even some hints of rain. School is in full swing and before we know it, it will be Halloween and then Thanksgiving. This year, Fishermen’s Chapel will be hosting the community meal. It’s always a very special time when the town comes together to celebrate the past year and take time to thank God for our blessings and the lessons we have learned from our mistakes. Make plans to be there and if you want to help in some way, bring some non perishable food items for the food pantry. Fishermen’s Chapel dispenses the food to needy people in our town and it is an all year long program.
TEAM KIDS continues to draw a large crowd each week. The FBC van picks ups full load of children and many more are delivered by their families. If you have a first through fifth grader that would like to come, we start at 5:30 with a meal, followed by Bible study, recreation and crafts. We’re done by 7:00. For more information, visit the POC FBC Facebook page.
Each year for the past several years, FBC has participated in the Samaritan’s Purse Shoe ‘Box project. We currently have over 100 boxes filled! Our goal this year is two fill at least 200 boxes. Last year we were blessed to be able to fill exactly 200. This year, we want to surpass that. Can we do it? With your help, we can. Each Wednesday at 9:00 we will meet at church to fill boxes. They are due to be delivered the week of November 14. Any small toy, school supplies, T-shirts, socks, sewing kits, knitted or crocheted items, bar soap, flip flops, etc. that can fit in a shoe box would be greatly appreciated. Help if you can. They are sent to deserving children all over the world.
We are waiting with open arms and doors to welcome you! We have several services and opportunities for you to join us at the BEST Baptist church in POC.
