All are invited to come on a journey with Pastor Joane at the Chapel. She has begun what she is calling “Route 66”. Beginning in Genesis, she will walk us through all 66 Books of the Bible. It is going to be a very rewarding series and extremely informational, especially for those who want to know more about Holy Scripture. These Books will be studies in all our Chapel services for all of us to learn from. Come and join us in this exciting journey!

What a great time we had in hosting the Annual Community Thanksgiving Service! We had a pretty full house and Brother Garlan Vick had a special message for us. Pastor Joane presented our community with an exceptional meal, with ladies of First Baptist furnishing tasty desserts. After great fellowship with one another, our spirits uplifted toward Thanksgiving, and with our bellies filled with great food, we have generously helped provide Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets for needy Port O’Connor families. Our great appreciation for the Service Club’s generous donation of $1,000.00 this year ($500 from each garage sale) to help meet this need. As all of us know, groceries are much higher this year than previously. But, together, our Port O’Connor Family gets the task accomplished – together!

The Thanksgiving Food Baskets will be distributed on November 22. As usual, those who qualify will receive a phone call. They will need to be picked up before noon.

The Christmas Food Baskets for needy families – no greedy ones, please! – has a December 4 deadline for signing up. They are scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday, December 13. Only those signed up for the Christmas Basket will have one reserved. If you, or someone you know, is in need of food, please let us know so we may assist them at this time of year. Our generous neighbors help when we know the need!

December is always filled with reminders of Whose Birthday we are celebrating – Jesus! There will be a Ladies’ Tea at Seadrift on December 10 at 10:30 a.m. All ladies are invited to attend. There will be a Sectional Christmas Party on Monday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. in Port Lavaca. For further information, contact Pastor Joane (361-648-4622).

On Sunday, December 18, at 6:00 p.m., the Chapel will celebrate Christmas in our style! We will have a special meal and our normal White Elephant Christmas Gift Exchange. This event is only for those who believe Christmas should be fun! No Scrooges allowed! It will be a full evening and the joy of Christmas will be shared with all.

On Sunday, December 18, at 6:00 p.m., we will be having an outside fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. We always have a lot of fun with this event as we sit around the fire and sing a few of the old Christmas Carols. This event always prepares us for the great Christmas Day celebrations!

On Sunday, December 25, Christmas Day, we will be having a special service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Sunday Bible Study, nor our regular 6:00 p.m. Evening Service. We believe sincerely that Christ came to a family, and we take time for our family gatherings. Christmas Day Service will be very special, so we trust that , as a family, you will join us for a Birthday Party for Jesus!

After several years of planning, Pastor Joane will finally take her trip to Israel on December 27 through January 6. Pastor Joane and I made that trip several years ago, and she has been looking forward to returning. Her trip is the result of a gift from this congregation, and she will excitedly give us all the details of that experience on her return! We are praying God’s blessings and her safety.

Fisherman’s Chapel is an interdenominational congregation whose mission is to help all of us as we seek our pathways to Heaven’s rewards. We gather each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for Bible Study; 11:00 a.m. for Morning Service, and 6:00 p.m. for Evening Service. We also meet at 7:00 p.m. each Wednesday, where we share a common meal together before we share from God’s Word. One will always find a warm welcome at the Chapel, and all are urged to, “Come, grow with us!”
