Dallas Cady
Meet Dallas Ray Cady, Jr. He’s a big football fan. His favorite football team is the Calhoun Sandcrabs. He plays wide receiver on the Calhoun County Youth Football League.
Dallas is nine years old. His parents are Megan and Dallas, Sr. His sisters are Sabrina and Bailey. Pets are cats Brody and Simba… and don’t forget Hopper, the pet billy goat!
Dallas is going into the fourth-grade next school year. He attends Seadrift’s First Assembly of God Church. Knowing the importance of church attendance Dallas said, “(It’s there) you learn about God and Jesus.”
Family is important to Dallas, and especially his dad. About family Dallas said, “I like to spend time with my family because they keep me safe.” Commenting about his dad, Dallas, Sr., he said, “My dad is special to me because he takes care of me and brings me joy.”
Dallas is part of one of the oldest, if not one of the biggest, of the Seadrift families. It is estimated that there may be upwards to 150 family members today of the Cady family. The Cady family came into the Seadrift area back in 1938! Back then many of the men made their living working for oil and gas companies. Many of them, also, worked the bay.
When asked what he’d like to be when he grows up Dallas said that he wanted to go into law enforcement. We wish Dallas God’s best as he pursues his dreams!
