The Calhoun County Republican Club will be hosting a presentation on the Dow X-energy SMR Project by Heather Lyons, the current Site Director for Seadrift Operations, on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Drifters Hall, 5287 FM 3084, Port Lavaca.

Dow’s Seadrift, Texas location was selected for the X-energy advanced SMR nuclear project which will deliver safe, reliable, zero carbon emissions power and steam production. Construction on the 320 MW four-unit Xe-100 project is expected to begin in 2026 and be completed by the end of the decade.
Ms. Lyons joined Dow in 2002 as a Process Engineer in Engineering Solutions at West Virginia Operations following three student co-op terms with Union Carbide Corporation. In December 2020, she was named Crop Protection Manufacturing Operational Excellence and Productivity Director. In June 2021, Ms. Lyons assumed additional responsibility as the Rice, Plantations & Specialty Herbicides Portfolio Manufacturing Director.
