Happy 43rd Anniversary to the POC Service Club:
On August 17, 2023 the Service Club Ladies were treated to a fun and entertaining afternoon celebrating the Club’s 43rd Anniversary, with an array of delicious foods, desserts, great fellowship, “Game Day”, and prizes! Honors were bestowed upon Nancy Childers for being a Club member for more than 30 years, and upon Club President, Marie Hawes, for her longtime membership, leadership, and commitment to the POC Community. Congratulations to these two wonderful Ladies! Everyone had a fabulous time, and thanked their Hostesses (Melanie Martinez, Nancy Ladshaw, Madeline Bourg, , Carol Haverfield, Mary Hirschhauser, Mary Wygrys, Terry Twomey, Lenice Mackey, and Susan Wallace) for the lovely afternoon. The Club thanks all its members, past and present, for their 43 years of hard work, dedication, and unwavering support and service to the Port O’ Connor Community! Now it’s time to get back to work!
Farmers Market: The Service Club appreciates your support at our Booth at POC’s Farmers Markets, the next one being Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Please come check out our homemade goodies, plants, hand crafted items, our “Service Club Cookbooks“ and our “POC- End of The Road” License Plate Covers, and raffle tickets of $5.00 each for a beautiful handmade quilt. There is something for everyone, so please stop by!
Meetings: The Service Club’s next meetings are September 7, 2023 and September 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at the POC Community Center. All Ladies are welcome!
Fall Mega Garage Sale: Our Fall Mega Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the POC Community Center Pavilion. We welcome your generous donations of household, kitchen, and decorative items; small appliances; clothes; shoes; toys; children’s and baby items, etc. You can leave your items in the “Drop Box” at the front of our Donation Center. Due to our limited space, we cannot accept furniture until September 28, 2023, right before the garage sale. For information, please contact one of the Service Club Ladies listed below:
