On February 23rd Paul McGee, owner of Costa Bonita Properties in Port O’Connor, and Jim Hooper, owner of The Hurricane Junction Bar & Grill, sponsored a Shuffle Board Tournament at Jim’s establishment. All of the money raised in entry fees and the silent auction was donated to the Port O’Connor Elementary School. PTO President, Rachel Redding, said she hoped to use the funds to purchase a Smart Board for the Pre-K class.

The event turned out to be a huge success raising over $1,100. Paul said he was very surprised and appreciative of the generosity of all of the people that made it so successful. The winner of the Tournament was Jesse Hunt. Bill Tigrett came in second.

Paul and Jim are planning to host another tournament in late summer.
