Seadrift – Sally Ann Williams, 80, passed away on June 17, 2013. She was born on November 21, 1932 to the late John E. and Mary K. Ethridge Nichols. She graduated from University of Houston at 21 with an Education Degree. Desiring to teach in a small town, she moved to Seadrift and taught in the Jr. High and Elementary Schools until she retired. She enjoyed reading, family, and volunteering, including: helping to found the Seadrift Library, teaching GED classes, Grant Writing, and she taught English to the first Vietnamese immigrants. Students loved her, especially for her smile. She was a long time member of the Seadrift Methodist Church and then joined the Unitarian Church of Victoria.

Sally is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wallace V. Williams of Seadrift; daughters, Nita J. Perez (Raymond) and Joni M. Troutman, both of Victoria; grandchildren, Jeremy & Brandon Williams, Staff Sargent Bryon Perez, Celisse Perez, Brad Troutman, Erika Mahan & Jason Perez; great-grandchildren, Michael & Isaiah Martinez, Jorden & Aallyah Williams, Daydre & Jordan Mahan, Brayden Perez, Gabriel Williams and Kazuma Sakamoto. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel V. Williams; sisters, Juanita Brocken & Helen Kennick; brothers, Richard, John and Clyde Nichols.

Funeral services were held June 21, 2013 at Seadrift Methodist Church with Pastor June Cantrell officiating. Burial followed at Seadrift Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Williams, Bradley Troutman, Brandon Williams, Jason Perez, Jordan Mahan, Jimmy Ray, Bryon Perkins and Kenneth Reese. Honorary pallbearer was SSgt. Bryon Perez, USMC, Afghanistan.

Memorials may be made to the Seadrift Library or Crown Hospice of Victoria.
