Where’s Gods plan for my life you say?
My life is nothing but a blah life, just work, a living, and big things happen to someone else, some place else. Where’s Gods plan for me in this world? I can’t see it, you say to yourself!
Ever read the book of Ruth? Ruth was just a poor widow trying to make a living. And it was a thin living at its best. In Ruth 2:12, it says, “May The Lord repay you for what you’ve done. May you be richly rewarded by The Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge”.
Now our problem, living in the church era of Laodicea, Revelations 3:14, is that we think, and are even taught, that The Lord is here for us! How wrong we are! We think everything is about us! How foolish we are to even think that The Lord even needs us for anything! EVER!!!
We are here not for us, but to serve our God through The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who gave us the free gift of salvation. It’s not about us, it’s about us telling and showing through our life that we are here for Him and to lead others to Him.
So what about Ruth? She went to her grave never knowing what she did! She married the son of a prostitute! Boaz. His mom was Rahab. The Rahab of Joshua 2 and 6:22-25.
The same Rahab that God used for the fall of Jericho and the rise of Israel is the same one who is the mother of Boaz. Who was the father of Obed, who was the father of Jesse, who was the father of King David, and who The Lord Jesus Christ was a descendant of! (Mat. 1)
You see, Ruth never knew her rewards. She won’t until rewards are given.
People think rewards are here and now in this era of self. I want my rewards to be eternal, not here for a few years and gone.
Are your thoughts on yourself and not service? Are you believing rewards are for here and now? If you are here on this earth and are a servant of God through Jesus Christ, your rewards will follow, for our time is eternal. If you want your rewards now, then when you enter your eternal home, they will be burned up here.
You just might be, and probably are, another Ruth or Boaz! You just won’t know it for awhile!
