Had I been told as a young lad that serving Jesus would be this exciting, I would have begun at two instead of 14! I guess I was talking – maybe some might have thought it preaching – by two, but I know that we are living in the days that make the angels jealous! God’s blessings are so rich and without the added troubles!
Christmas in August is a crazy idea, but we truly enjoyed the morning with Ric Gorden, having the Christmas tree decorated and singing Carols! We talked about the shepherds and wise men, about no room in the inn and the angelic choir; what a delight! We passed around “White Elephant Gifts” and laughed as we greeted each other with “Merry Christmas!” Who knows, this might become an annual event for us at the Chapel – I know that I received several requests for such. We concluded this special day by baptizing two at the front beach – what a way to celebrate Christ’s Birthday!
We have enjoyed the special ministry of the Reverend Jason Delgado, Reverend Everett Ruddick, Reverend Leo Martinez, Reverend Jessie Alderete, and Pastor Joane. Each one has provided us with a challenge to do more for the Lord than ever before, and we are attempting to take the charge.
Some have not heard about Pastor Joane taking classes to become a “growth consultant” with “Church Life”. Pastor Joane and I have been taking classes for two years and were invited to take this next step. Due to my present goals – mainly to complete our Retreat Center – I opted to take the classes later but have encouraged Pastor Joane to move forward. Be sue to be praying for her – she is also looking into several PhD programs, so she can be ever busier!
You must come by the Chapel and see the many projects that we are working on and the few we have completed. We removed the carpet from the Youth Room, gave it a fresh coat of paint, and renewed the furniture and games there. It is very eye appealing and the kids are enjoying their “new room”. We also have redone the bathrooms with new paint, light fixtures and flooring. The hallway is in the process of being updated. We believe that the Lord’s House should be as nice or nicer than our own homes and are working on making it so. There is no way I can thank all those who have spent many hours working on the projects – so I will just say, “May the Lord reward you for all your hard work for the building of His Kingdom through the Chapel!”
Coming soon are special services with Steven Hoell, who is an anointed singer from Florida on October 6, in both the morning and evening services; Sea Academy Classes October 4-11; and Evangelist Gene and Mona Summers on October 20. These are extra special events that you will want to be a part of. Fisherman’s Chapel is an interdenominational congregation whose goal is to see people being transformed by the Lord. We believe that Jesus is coming very soon, and what we are going to do, we must accomplish quickly. So, come help us. You will always find a warm welcome at the Chapel, and are urged to, “Come, grow with us!”
