F.J. ‘Bo’ Cunningham, 83, of Seadrift, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. He was born November 21, 1931 in San Antonio to the late Francis and Agnes Cunningham.
He served in the United States Navy, where he fought in the Korean War. After he served his term he made his way to Baffin Bay where he spent his time as a commercial fisherman before making Seadrift his life-long home and becoming owner and operator of Cunningham Seafood, from which he retired in the early 80’s.
He was a Master Mason and President of Pisces which he spent much of his time fighting for the rights of the commercial fishermen.
In his spare time you could find him in a poker game or out in the field quail hunting with his favorite dog, ‘Babe’.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Jay) Ignac; sons, Gary (Lynette), James (Elizabeth), and Wesley Cunningham; six grandchildren, Jayle (Dakota), Amber, Justice, Ashley, Corey, and Anthony.
He is now reunited with his parents; wife, Betty; daughters, Brenda Kay and Hope; sisters, Kay Asher and Beverley Cunngingham.
