This past Sunday we honored all our Veterans – Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines and Merchant Marines. We recognized each branch of service with everyone standing. The congregation gave the Veterans a big applause and then gave the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America. It was all inspirational and an hour to our Veterans.
The morning service began with the choir singing the Doxology. The congregation sang “I Need Thee Every Hour” and “I Must Tell Jesus”. Music and Youth Minister Raymond Grant called the children forward and this was a record attendance of children. He then gave them a great children’s sermon on “Giving to God”.
Before Pastor Donnie Martin preached his sermon, the choir sang a musical special, “I Have Passed Over to Canaanland”. The service was well attended and I enjoyed having my great grandson, Jaxson Ellis and my granddaughter, Michelle Ellis, in attendance.
