“Let’s get this show on the road!

Thanks to Board members, some of our Advisory Council members, and the Student Advisors, our FIESTA on Saturday, April 9 was filled with lots of color, great food provided by Josie’s Restaurant, wonderful silent auction items, and enthusiastic support by the POC community for a new, bigger, and better library! Our student advisors sold soft drinks to thirsty guests and helped sell 50/50 raffle tickets. Lots of kids came running to participate and gather up the sweets that rained down after a healthy ball bat slam broke the piñata. The band struck up some lively music making for a very festive affair!

Other events planned for 2016 are the annual membership meeting at the end of June, our second Authors fundraiser this fall and Hooper’s Chili/Gumbo cook-off in October. Stay tuned for more details.
