Seadrift – Juana C. Pompa, 81, of Seadrift passed away May 4, 2011. She was born March 7, 1930 in Corpus Christi to the late Nicola and Isabel Mascorro Charles. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Seadrift.

She is survived by her daughters, Ofelia P. Elizondo and husband, Kelly, of Austin, Idolina Meza of Port Lavaca, Maria Estrada and husband, Edward, of Seadrift; sons, George A. Salazar of Seadrift, Timoteo C. Pompa and wife, Sherri, of Seadrift; sisters, Isabel Moore of California and Tina Oudie of Seguin; brothers, Nicolas Charles of Corpus Christi, Roberto Charles of San Antonio, Ruben Charles of Corpus Christi, and Raul Charles of Seadrift; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Timoteo D. Pompa; sons, Jesse Salazar, Salome Salazar; parents; sisters, Josephina Martinez, Genoveva Sauceda, and Clara Terrazas; brothers, Chano Charles and Samuel Charles; and granddaughter, Victoria Estrada.

Funeral Mass was held May 6 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at Seadrift Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons: Eddie Salazar, James Salazar, Ovie Meza, Juan Salazar, Sam Sparks and Timothy “TJ” Pompa.

Noah Estrada was honorary pallbearer.
