Seadrift – Alvin Henry “Sonny” Mullins, Jr., 79, of Seadrift, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017. He was born April 2, 1938 in Seadrift, Texas to the late Alvin Henry and Lois Marie Woolridge Mullins, Sr.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents and sister Linda Karen Beard.

Sonny will always be remembered for his strong beliefs in God. The beliefs led him on many journeys throughout his life. He enjoyed collecting many things and love to do research. He was an avid lover of the outdoors, such as camping, traveling to Montana. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandson. Sonny was very proud to have served his country in the United States Coast Guard.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Mullins; sister, Rosellen Mullins Moore; brother, R.D. “Butch” Mullins; grandson, Jacob Mullins and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Graveside services and interment were held on May 31, 2017 at Seadrift Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Calhoun County Veterans Honor Guard, In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the VFW Post 4403, 16 Conrad Rd., Port Lavaca, Texas 77979.
