Warrior’s Weekend Fishermen

I want to share with you a picture of our fishing group. Fishing was a bit tough but we had a great time. I want to tell you how amazing these guys were. One of the hero’s (Doug Shreve) all he talked about was wanting to catch a red fish. Both of the guys never stopped fishing until it was time to go in, but Doug hasn’t caught a red fish yet. It was getting late and I said it’s time to go, and he said, “one more cast.” I said, “heck yea,” and all of a sudden he start yelling, “I got the big one, get the net.” The rest of us dropped what we were doing to make sure he got it in the boat.

Well, is was a red alright, but it was about 19” long. He ask what the size it had to be and I told him 20”. He said to throw it back so that it could grow and he hoped that some child would catch this fish for his or her first red fish.

So he came back to the dock empty handed, but he has a fishing story that he could tell his wife and kids. I told the guys if it makes the Dolphin Talk, I would mail him the paper.

This was their first Warrior’s Weekend. We met their families at dinner, traded stories and exchanged contact information. What a great weekend!
