We’re already in the “dog days of summer”. That means fireworks, dripping ice cream, vacations, hot days and lots and lots of mosquitos! These past few months have flown by and school will be starting before we know it.

We’re keeping very busy at First Baptist Church. Our sanctuary is crowded every Sunday morning and our Sunday school classes are filled with children and adults. What a blessing it is to live in a country where we can gather and worship as we please. Don’t take that privilege for granted.

For the next few weeks, lots of repairs will be taking place in our church buildings. After 25 years of hurricanes, winter storms and lots of wear and tear, our Fellowship Hall will be undergoing major repairs. Our sanctuary has already had some upgrades and more are planned. These won’t in any way interfere with our services and Sunday school classes. We will be doing God’s business as usual throughout these renovations!

On June 30, a crowd was on hand to honor our late friend, Doyle Adams. A stone cross was placed on FBC grounds. His selfless dedication to our church was an inspiration to us all.

Come see what all the excitement is about! We are waiting to welcome you on Sundays or Wednesdays. If your child needs transportation on Sunday mornings, please call Mary Covarrubias at 361-218-8641 to schedule bus pickup. We hope to see you soon.
