Paul McGee, 60, of Port O’Connor passed away October 13, 2019 in the presence of friends and family. He was born April 11, 1959 in Austin to John Henry McGee and Billie Jean McGee. He worked for Johnson and Johnson, owned a successful sporting goods store, an athletic uniform manufacturing company in his namesake, and was a stellar real estate agent. Paul was an active member of the Calhoun County Community in Port O’Connor where he proudly hung his cowboy hat with pride.
He is survived by his son, Caleb McGee, daughter, Kim McGee (Erik Eastburn); mother, Billie Jean McGee; and brothers, Johnny McGee, and Mark McGee; his fiancé NormAlicia Hernandez; and his dearest lifelong friend and confidant Jerry Greeson.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry McGee.
Paul was a simple, honest and hardworking man his entire life. He loved NASCAR, cold beer and boat rides. Paul enriched the lives of those around him. Paul excelled at everything he attempted from sporting goods, real estate to building giant sand castles in honor and memory of the Wounded Warriors Project. You could always find Paul at sunrise every morning in a freshly pressed pair of wrangler jeans and polished cowboy boots.
A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca with Dustin Jenkins officiating.
Immediately following the ceremony, the McGee Family will receive friends and family at The Sanctuary at Costa Grande, E. Lago Loop Road, Port O’Connor, TX 77982 at the Marina Building.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and/or the Texas Realtors Relief Fund, two organizations that Paul was extremely active in and fond of.
