Isn’t it a great day to be alive! God’s blessings have been so evident that we are excitedly walking through our days looking to see what He has been up to! God is still moving in lives and making a difference for us. We are getting some exciting reports of many great things that God is doing for His people here in Port O’Connor.
It was great to have Evangelist Rod Vincent here even if it was for only one service. We truly enjoy and appreciate his ministry. That evening, we were honored to graduate six FBI students – those who had completed this year’s work. Fisherman’s Bible Institute (FBI) will begin again in August or September, and we will keep you posted. It was a great accomplishment – doing all those workbooks and attending the Tuesday evening lecture time each week. It was a great challenge, but the enhanced knowledge of God’s Word made the investment worth it.
The “Search for Significance” class continues to meet each Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Ladies are being challenged to become all that the Lord has made them to be. We have heard some great reports concerning personal growth that has happened as a result of these classes. You are welcome to come to the Chapel and be a part of these classes.
There is another Sea Academy class taking place at the Chapel this week. Captain Robert is instructing these future “captains” and can be reached for information at 361/816-3010. Many people have been helped with their careers by attending these classes – we help people and that is why we host these classes!
We were honored to have one of our own Wounded Warriors as our special speaker on June 5th. First Sergeant Jessie Alderete is a patient at BAMC due to injuries received in Iraq. He is also our Spanish Pastor. It is always an honor and delight to have him fill our pulpit. Thank you, Hermano Jessie!
This past Wednesday evening, we were blessed to have Patrick Overton direct our service. Patrick shared a moving video about how God is working around the world to bless His Church.
On June 12, the Reverend Joane will be filling our pulpit. She always has something to delight us from God’s Holy Word. Everyone should make a special effort to be a part of these special services.
Father’s Day is quickly approaching and again every dad present will receive a special gift. This will be a special time where we will honor dads of all ages. A special message will be shared and all dads will feel special – as they should. God has blessed the Chapel with more men than normal, and we are grateful to each man who makes the Chapel his church home. Families, encourage your special dad to come and be a part of these special events.
Friday Night Youth will only be meeting on June 10 and 17 this month because of all the special activities that the Chapel is involved in. Kids, come over from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. for a time of fellowship, food, and fun! And, bring a friend to share with your other friends!
Fisherman’s Chapel is an interdenominational congregation that seeks to help everyone to become all that God has designed them to be. We can never reach our fullest potential until we share our lives with others at church. Everyone will find a warm welcome at the Chapel. “Come, grow with us!”
