Encountering Angels
Driving through the small town of Seadrift, you may not expect to encounter “angels”. I can assure you, they are present!
My sister is battling cancer and like most cancer patients, has good days and bad days. On one of her “bad” days this fall, she came outside and found that her outdoor space had been transformed into a beautiful autumn scene. It brought her so much joy and gave her the boost she needed that day. There was no clue of who this amazing “Fall Fairy” or “Autumn Angel” could be. The surprises continued to come, always anonymously. Each surprise brought happiness to my sister and to our family and we truly felt the love.
Today was a hard day for my sister but was turned around after finding the angel came once again. This time, the angel (or angels) put up lights, a Christmas tree, and reindeer. The look on my sister’s face was priceless and the feelings she felt were indescribable. It gave her hope.
My sister and our family would truly love to thank this person or persons. Since we don’t know the identity, we have tried to pay it forward as a way to show our thankfulness. I believe that one day this “angel” will be revealed. Until then, I encourage everyone to be an angel for someone. And if you are driving through Seadrift, keep your eyes open. You may just see an angel in action.
