POC’s Book Club, “Hooked On Books”, held its Annual December Book Club Meeting and Christmas Party on December 14, 2021 at the home of Hank and Michelle Lippold. The covered dish affair provided a smorgasbord of beverages, entrees, appetizers, sides, and desserts, and the ladies enjoyed the feast over cheerful visiting, laughing, and Yuletide merriment!! Following the meal, the group held a lively discussion of December’s Book, The Christmas Box, by Richard Paul Evans, and all agreed it was a very touching story with meaningful, lifelong lessons! The group wrapped up the event with a highly competitive, boisterous, and entertaining “Chinese Christmas Gift Exchange”, and, luckily, no one was injured in the good-natured stealing, swapping, and chiding!!! It was a fun and wonderful afternoon, and a great time was had by all!! A huge “Thank You” to the Hostess for her warm hospitality!!

The next Book Club Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, and January’s Book is Miss Ella of Commander’s Palace, by Ella Brennan. The book is the autobiographical story of Ms Brennan’s legendary family, who founded the Brennan Restaurant Empire in New Orleans and Houston.
