Have you ever been in a room with 40 plus children who are standing on their feet and singing at the top of their lungs? Thanks to Candice Stryker and all her hard work, that is just what happened at FBC this past week during VBS. Monday through Thursday, more than 20 volunteers taught Bible study, music, crafts, missions and recreation and served snacks. Thursday evening after VBS, parents, family and friends were invited to a program showcasing their children. The children danced, sang and all enjoyed a slide show. Afterwards, everyone was treated to refreshments in the Fellowship Hall. Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers. You can see all the pictures on Facebook at Port O’Connor FBC VBS/ Children’s Church.

Each year the youth contribute money and food for two different charities. The money goes to South Texas Children’s Home. VBS 2022 collected over $600.00 and an anonymous donor has generously matched that amount! That means that the South Texas Children’s Home will be receiving over $1,200.00 this year. They also donated over 100 food items for the Fisherman’s Chapel Food Bank. Awesome job and a big thank you to all who donated.

The fun is not over yet. Soon the children and youth will be attending camp. June 11, the youth put on a bake sale at POC Hardware to raise money for camp expenses. Another Thank You to all who baked, bought and donated at this event. The cost for each child/youth averages over $300.00. FBC is sending over 20 youngsters to camp this year. These funds insure that everyone who wants to go is able.
Sunday, June 12, was the last day for Phillip Miller to pastor our church. He and his wife, Katrina, will be moving to Copperas Cove, TX, to pastor a new church. Following the morning service, a farewell luncheon was held in the Fellowship Hall. We know that God has big plans for them in their new home.

Sunday, June 26, 6:00 p.m., is our next Birthday Bash Pot Luck in the Fellowship Hall. FBC will be furnishing hamburgers and hotdogs. Please bring a side dish, salad or dessert when you come. Don’t miss all the good food. See you there!!!
We have so many opportunities to worship each week. Sunday at 10:00, we have Sunday School for all ages. Worship services are at 11:00 and 6:00. Tuesday women’s Bible Study is at 4:00 and men’s at 7:00. Wednesday evenings at 6:00 is youth activities. We are waiting to welcome you.
