Fun on the 4th of July…
WOW!! Port O’ Connor knows how to celebrate the fourth of July!! The weekend started on Saturday, July 2nd with a Ribbon Cutting for our own Dawn Ragusin at her new art studio, Studio 14. Dawn serves as our Vice-President, and we are very proud to support her in this new endeavor. Congratulations to the POC fire department on the Fireman’s 4 race/walk and the barbeque lunch. It looked like a good steady crowd throughout the day and the food was delicious. We had numerous vendors and food trucks down at the Kingfisher Beach supplying cold drinks and snow cones. The beach was lined up with tents, chairs and folks enjoying the day. The day concluded with a spectacular fireworks show that could be seen for miles. A huge thank you to our sponsors and volunteers for your generous contributions and time.
On Monday, July 4th we held our first Fourth of July parade which started on old main and headed up to Park Drive and then over to Washington and back to old Main. Congratulations to Arnold Martinez “Elvis” and Lynda Hughes and Michelle Davis “Balloon Extravaganza” who tied for most patriotic. Thank you to Judge Nancy Pomykal “Lady Liberty” for serving as our Grand Marshall and the POC fire department for leading the way. We hope attendees and spectators enjoyed the parade and hope to make it bigger and better next year.
We welcome our new and renewing members for this month, Port O’ Connor Country Club Condominiums Association and Kenneth Gregory Guide Service. It is not too late to join the chamber for 2022. Business memberships have been discounted to $50 through the end of the year.
