This is a very busy week at FBC! On Sunday, November13, Fisherman’s Chapel hosted the POC Community Thanksgiving service. The crowd was treated to a wonderful meal, singing by FBC choir, a message from Brother Garlan Vitt, prayers and messages from Pastor Erne McDonough and Rev. Tommy Chen. If you have never been a part of one of these celebrations, you are missing out on a wonderful blessing. There is so much to be thankful for in our small community. Every year during this event, money is collected to fund the POC Food Bank and provide Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets for deserving families in POC. This gives everyone a chance to share with others. If you would like to be part of the giving or receiving of these baskets, please contact Fisherman’s Chapel.

This is also the week to deliver Shoe Boxes as part of Samaritans Purse Ministries. FBC works on filling these boxes with small gifts, school supplies, clothes, toiletries, etc., all year long. We deliver them to a distribution point and from there they are sent to children in over 100 countries around the world. The Ukraine is one of the countries where boxes are delivered. Since the war started, over 40,000 boxes have been delivered to just the children there! This is such an important project for FBC. This year; we filled 200 boxes. Be part of the fun and excitement when we get started again in the new year.

On Wednesday evening, the 16th, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. the FBC Youth and Intercoastal 4-H collected canned goods and non-perishable food items for the POC food bank. Thank you for your donations.

TEAM KIDS and YOUTH ACTIVITIES continue on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year except when there are school holidays. Wednesday, November 23, there will be no activities at church because of Thanksgiving. The church will welcome everyone back on November 30. If you know a child in grades 1-5 for TEAM KIDS or grades 6-12 for YOUTH ACTIVITIES, bring them to FBC at 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday (except holidays) for dinner, Bible study, crafts and recreation. They will thank you for it and we will be looking forward to seeing them. Call the church (361-983-2727) or see the FBC Facebook page.
