The Calhoun County Historical Commission has developed a web page for the use of the Citizens of Calhoun County. One of the prime responsibilities of the commission is to preserve the history of the county. It believes that one of the best ways to preserve such history is for all citizens to have access to as much historical information as possible. So the intent of the website is to make more data accessible. The internet is one very good way. In going to the web site one can find the current membership list of the commission.

One will also find the minutes and various committee reports that are part of the commissions’ business. Two committees in particular are seats of information. They are the committee on cemeteries and on Historical Markers. Their activities are reported as well as events planned by these committees. Links are included to other sources of historical information such as the Calhoun County Museum and Library. There are links to sources of information regarding Indianola and its glorious past and present.

It is pointed out that this web page is a work in progress and it is planned that its development and usefulness will continue to grow. The web page can be found at www.calhouncountyhc.org
