Seadrift – Helen E. Stanfill, devoted mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 25, 2011 at the age of 89. She was born July 12, 1921, in Seadrift to the late William and Pearl Dierlam Bindewald. She worked for the Seadrift Post Office for 27 years and retired in September 1983 as the postmaster. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seadrift and was a past member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Stanfill and wife, Barbara, of Seadrift, Neal Stanfill and wife, Kathy, of Cuero; grandchildren, Carrie Birkett of Melbourne, Australia, Marsha Clark of Kentwood, La., Jaime Stanfill of Cuero, Justin Stanfill of Cuero,  Carla Kuhlman of Ganado, and Vincent Stanfill of Cuero; and great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Mason and Briley Clark, all of Kentwood, La.<br> </br>
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Stanfill; her parents; and her brother, Glenn Bindewald.<br> </br>
Funeral services were held January 27 at First Baptist Church in Seadrift. Interment followed at Seadrift Cemetery.<br> </br>
Pallbearers were John Simpson, Buddy Wilson, Tom Sanders, Stanley Dierlam, Walter Dierlam, Freeman Dierlam, and Glendon Hill.<br> </br>
Honorary pallbearers were Ernest Dierlam, Justin Stanfill, Vincent Stanfill, Mason Clark, and Kyle Kuhlman.<br> </br>
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Seadrift youth Building Fund.<br> </br>
