Robert Boyd Youngblood, 84, of Seadrift, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012. He was born July 16, 1927, in Weslaco to the late Walter Youngblood and Melissa Potter Youngblood. He was a Baptist and a retired welder; he began welding at the age of 16.
He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Taylor (Jim) of Seadrift and Susan Williams of Seadrift; sons, Robert Youngblood Jr. of Seadrift and Walter “Skip” Youngblood (Lisa) of Point Comfort; sister, Marion Wimberley (Jay) of Victoria; brother, Cullen Youngblood of Seadrift; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; plus one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce West Youngblood; and brother, Oren Youngblood.
Funeral service was held June 18 at First Baptist Church in Seadrift. Burial followed at Seadrift Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Taylor, David McLemore, Phillip Taylor, Geoffrey Youngblood, Mark Ellisworth, and Kurtiss Fontenot.
Honorary pallbearers were Joey Beaver and David Youngblood.
