As I write this report we are enjoying our third frontal passage of the last two weeks. This is a good one. 22 kts gusting to over 30 kts. Not exactly the day we look for to wade the south shorelines. I went down to the boat ramps earlier and there were a few boats out. I guess when you have a day off and want to go fishing there is no reason to let a little gale get in your way.
The bays have been so so over the last few weeks. The shell in San Antonio Bay has been giving up some small trout but overall its been slow.
The Lakes have had some fair redfish action but nothing spectacular. The north wind can blow most of the water out of the lakes making it hard to get around. I haven’t caught any trout back there in a while.
The jetties are still full of redfish. Lots of Bulls but there are enough slots to get a limit. The drum are thinning out but still there and the sheepshead are beginning to show. there are still lots of Mangrove Snapper to be had. The Summer species seem to have left. I haven’t seen any Tarpon or Mackerel in a while.
