Wonderful Counselor

Isaiah 9:6: For to us a child is born, To us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (NIV)

In 9:7: Of the increase of HIS government and peace there will be no end.

Notice how Jesus came as a child the first time, but when he returns with ‘His army’ he returns as a King. The government, the ONLY government!

He will use a ‘plumb line’ to establish his rule. A plumb line is strait, like its holder. It doesn’t curve and bend to lobbyists, injustice, special interests, and knows no bribes. It’s not politically correct. It will not curve for favors rendered. It is strait for the ‘righteous’ and strait for the ‘non righteous.

‘Wonderful counselor’, He knows EVERYTHING about us and waits for us to ask forgiveness. If you told your best friend everything about yourself, you would probably lose a friend. But not Jesus, He already knows all about us and is ready to put it behind us if we ask.

Only a ‘mighty God’, an ‘everlasting Father’, the ‘Prince of Peace’ can accomplish this.

Our TV ads tell us our politicians can get this done if you vote for them, but God’s Word says, “mans’ wisdom is but foolishness to God.”

Now, the army of Jesus returning with Him? The army is not the angels, it’s the Christians! (Rev.19:14 / Rev.17:14). This will take place after the ‘wedding supper of the Lamb’ in Revelations 19:9.

It’s clear as a bell. This is what God’s Word says; read it!

The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth is going to give government employees a new meaning. Because of His forgiveness, we will be in union with Him, unlike mans corrupt union.

Yes! YES! There’s a new government coming – coming soon!

Seadrift VFD Has New Rescue Truck

Kneeling: Jay Cuellar, Safety Superindent, Seadrift Coke and County Commissioner Kenneth Finster

The Seadrift Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) recently completed work on a new rescue truck with the help of several local entities. The truck chassis is a 2004 Chevrolet that was previously used by Calhoun County EMS. The rescue box was given to the City of Seadrift by the City of Port Lavaca in 1994. The frame of the chassis was shortened and the rescue box mounted by Seadrift Assistant Fire Chief Frank Gerking Jr with the assistance of Calhoun County Precinct 4 employees and Precinct 4 Commissioner Kenny Finster. The completed truck was painted by Port Lavaca Collision Center in Port Lavaca and the striping was done by Eclipse Tinting & Auto Glass in Port Lavaca.

Money for the project came from Calhoun County: $7,000 and a donation from Seadrift Coke: $2,500. The $7,000 from Calhoun County was previously earmarked for a 2011 Grant match for a new rescue truck that Seadrift VFD applied for but was turned down. Among the equipment to be carried on the truck is a new jaws-of-life rescue cutter funded by a 2012 Dow Seadrift Operations Community Grant.
