Seadrift School welcomes new Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Students for the 2011 – 2012 school year!

Seadrift School will have early Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten registration on May 2nd – May 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Parents/Guardians will need to bring the following: student’s courthouse birth certificate, student’s social security card, immunization record, drivers’ licenses and parent-proof of guardianship. If registering for Pre-Kindergarten, proof of income will also be needed.

To register for kindergarten, the child must be 5 years old on or before September 1st and if registering for pre-kindergarten, the child must be 4 years old on or before September 1st. If the student is currently enrolled at Seadrift School in Pre-K or Kindergarten classes this school year, parents do not need to register again.

On Thursday, April 7th, the Epsilon Pi Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International held their monthly meeting at the Salem Lutheran Church.

We began our meeting with the initiation of our three new members: Amber Caylor, Gloria Rodriguez, and Cathie Self. Welcome ladies and we’re so glad to have you!!

After the initiation, we celebrated our 52nd birthday with birthday cake and punch.

Our next meeting will be our Founders Day Dinner on May 5th at Barketts beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Your help is needed to make this year’s Warrior’s Weekend the best ever for our wounded soldiers.

Volunteers are needed for the big event and also to take soldiers pier fishing on Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21.

Please come to the volunteer meeting Monday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. at Cathy’s Restaurant in Port O’Connor.

There are many ways, both big and small, that you can make a difference in these soldiers’ lives.

Johnny and Joyce Rhyne of Port O’Connor were honored to be a part of their granddaughter Savanna McMurchy’s wedding on April 16. Savanna was wed to David Bowman in a beautiful ceremony held at Assembly of God Church in League City, Texas.

The Goliad Hanging Tree on the north side of the courthouse lawn. Under this tree in 1857, trials were held and men were hanged for the murder of Mexican freighters or cartmen.
