In our last (April 8) issue, we omitted the name of one of the local cast members in the upcoming Port Lavaca Main Street Theatre production, “Cinderella”.
12-year-old Jaimey Morales will be playing the part of “Lady Lovely”. Jaimey is the daughter of Leo Morales and Tracy Johnson of Seadrift.
We regret the omission.

BB Upholstery LLC is owned and operated by a local brother sister team, Becky Haynes and Bubba Storenski. Both have grown up in Port O’Connor have been around boats and the saltwater all of their lives.

One night in the garage, Becky, who has been sewing since she was five, and Bubba, who has always been excellent in overcoming any mechanical challenge he has crossed, were making new cushions for Bubba’s boat and the idea of BB Upholstery was born.

Now open in their new modern shop on Highway 185 in Port O’Connor, BB Upholstery specializes in boat seats, canvas and most anything else related to fabric and a boat. If you need a new base for your cushion, t-top cover replaced or just re-laced, new cushions, boat cover, bimini top, bedding for your berth or your home, BB Upholstery can take care of it all for you right here in Port O’Connor.

Please join them in celebrating their Grand Opening Saturday, April 30, 2011, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30.p.m. with the Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting at 1:00 p.m. or stop by their shop on the Highway just to the west of Sonny’s Marine, Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. to visit with them and see many samples of their work. You will probably even see Becky sitting on that first set of cushions behind one of their sewing machines
