Johnny and Joyce Rhyne of Port O’Connor were honored to be a part of their granddaughter Savanna McMurchy’s wedding on April 16. Savanna was wed to David Bowman in a beautiful ceremony held at Assembly of God Church in League City, Texas.

The Goliad Hanging Tree on the north side of the courthouse lawn. Under this tree in 1857, trials were held and men were hanged for the murder of Mexican freighters or cartmen.

In our last (April 8) issue, we omitted the name of one of the local cast members in the upcoming Port Lavaca Main Street Theatre production, “Cinderella”.
12-year-old Jaimey Morales will be playing the part of “Lady Lovely”. Jaimey is the daughter of Leo Morales and Tracy Johnson of Seadrift.
We regret the omission.
