Cub Scout Pack 116 participated in the Deleon District Pinewood Derby on Saturday Feb. 5, 2011 at Victoria Mall. We had some very unique cars that were super fast. First time racer Tiger Cub John Rosenboom was very competative and made it through the final round. Gavin Gosnell, Weeblo 2, proudly raced his final derby before becoming a Boy Scout. Thanks to all the Cub Scout racers, their families and supporters who came out for an awesome day of racing.

Selena is a beautiful Siamese cross, 1-2 years old, and will always have those lovely blue eyes. Like many Siamese, she’s a bit of a diva, adores people, might share her human with another cat but will probably do best without competition.
Macy
Macy is a female boxer mix about 6 months old so she has some growing to do. She’s happy, good natured, gets along well with other dogs and has boundless energy. Schertz – Sandra Stephens, Master Sgt. (retired), U.S. Air Force, age 46, of Schertz, passed away on February 4, 2011.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Fisher B. Paulk, and her brother, Stephen B. Paulk. She is survived by her husband, Mark Stephens; mother, Clara M. Paulk of Port O’Connor; stepson, Mark Jr.; stepdaughters, Jennifer and Marissa; and her sisters, Annette Vinson and Kelly Corales of Victoria.
Sandy was a beloved and active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and A.C.T.S. Community.
Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Selma, Texas.

Power Emergency – Conservation CRITICAL – Rotating Outages Have Begun
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has instructed utilities to begin rotating outages to compensate for a generation shortage due to numerous plant trips that occurred because of the extreme weather.
Rotating outages are controlled, temporary interruptions of electric service, typically lasting 10-45 minutes per neighborhood. The locations and durations are determined by the local utilities. Critical need customers such as hospitals and nursing homes are generally not included.
It is not known at this time how long the need for rotating outages will last.
Consumers and businesses are urged to reduce their electricity use to the lowest level possible, including these steps:
