January 13 Games:

Seadrift 7th vs. Howell A

Seadrift 20 Howell 18

Madison Carter 13 pts, 5 rebounds, 9 steals;  Tiffany Galloway 5 pts, 6 steals, 2 rebounds;  Alexis

Jaramillo 1 steal;  Christina Nguyen 2 rebounds, 2 steals;  Monica Mendez 1 steal ;

Zoey Dierlam 5 rebounds, 8 steals, 3 pts;  Journi Huddler 3 steals

The girls deserved this win. They gave 100% from the tip off. Madison Carter has scored in double figures in 5 of the 6 games shes played. Zoey Dierlam played a great defensive game, it was the best of the season. They knew they had to pick up the intensity and they did.

Seadrift 8th vs Howell A

Seadrift 19  Howell 37

Falyn Thomas 4 steals; Taylor Wilson 10 steals, 1 rebound, 2 pts;  Marissa Martinez 8 steals, 5

rebounds, 6 pts;  Kassidy Colianni 7 steals, 5 pts;  Ashley Cunningham 5 steals, 5  pts;  Leiah Morales 1 steal ; McCall Stafford 3 steals, 1 rebound;  Franny Youngblood 2 steals, 2 rebounds

We just did not get going soon enough, and they were rushing the plays and their dribble. They played hard but did not make good court choices. Ashley Cunningham, McCall Stafford, and Marissa Martinez had tremendous games. This was their first loss and they took it hard. They are beginning to understand

that basketball is just as much mental as it is physical.

Seadrift 8th B Tournament Jan 14/15

Friday Jan 14 results:

Seadrift 29 Patti Welder 13

Madison Carter 4 pts, 8 steals;  Ashley Cunningham 2 pts, 9 steals;  Taylor Wilson 12 pts, 15 rebounds;

McCall Stafford 2 pts, 5 steals, 4 rebounds;  Falyn Thomas 9 pts, 4 steals, 6 rebounds

Saturday Jan 15 results:

Seadrift 15 OLV 31

Kassidy Colianni 2 pts, 7 steals; Madison Carter 4 pts, 5 steals; Ashley Cunningham 2 pts, 4 steals;

Taylor Wilson 7 pts, 9 rebounds

The loss to OLV sent us into the game for 3rd and 4th against Travis.

Seadrift 12 Travis 14

Madison Carter 4 pts, 5 steals;  Leiah Morales 2 pts; Taylor Wilson 6 pts, 8 rebounds;  Marissa Martinez 10 rebounds; Franny Youngblood 6 rebounds

The girls played really well against Patti Welder Friday and then went against a very strong team in OLV on Saturday morning. We were just simply outplayed. Our shooting was cold. If we would have capitalized on more of our little shots it would have been a whole different ballgame. Our game against Travis was a nail biter all the way. It could have went either way. Our shooting once again came back to haunt us.
