Nancy-Jo-Harborth-Obit-PicNancy Jo Amundson Harborth, 58, of Port O’Connor, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 in Port Lavaca. She was born in Denver, Colorado to Chantal Theodore Hawes on January 1, 1963. Nancy went to and graduated from Calhoun High School. She met and married the love of her life, Freddie Harborth, and to this union two daughters were born.

Nancy is survived by her husband; Freddie Harborth, daughters; Tesha Russell, and Patricia Hoffman, parents; Freddie and Chantal Hawes, grandchildren; whom she affectionately referred to as “Mimi’s Little Peanuts”, Kailyn Russell, Ty Russell, Addy Hoffman, Jace Hoffman, and Gracey Hoffman, sisters; Stephanie Holt, and Lisa Goode, brothers; Timothy Amundson, Sean Hawes, Michael Hawes, and Walker Hawes, and many loving nieces and nephews, all of whom will cherish her memory.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Port O’Connor, officiated by Father Tommy Chen. Interment followed at Port O’Connor Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Sammy Holt, Benjamin Bourg, Austin Brewer, Alan Amundson, Daniel Harborth, and Ashton Harborth. Honorary pallbearers were Keith Hudson, Rodney Brewer, Bryan Richter, Ben Koonce, and JC Hoffman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Port O’Connor Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 732, Port O’Connor, Texas 77982. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.richardsoncolonial.com.

Gary-KlammGary Alan Klamm, 46 of San Antonio passed away on September 17, 2021 after a lengthy illness due to chronic heart disease and acute kidney failure. He was born September 16, 1975 in Tucson, Arizona.

Gary and his parents became residents of Port O’Connor back in 1985. Gary moved to San Antonio in 1994. He loved to come to Port O’Connor on the weekend to spend time with his little brother and sister and her family. Gary had the love for music, art, and loved helping family and friends. Gary was always there for his lifelong friend, David A. Cleveland. They both took great care of one another in times of need.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Gerald Allan Klamm and Theresa Marie Klamm, Grandparents; Benjamin Franklin Klamm, Letty Jean Cunningham, and Samuel Yosua. Gary is survived by his older sister April (Juan) Loya in Arizona, younger sister Kimberley (Tim) Gonzales, younger brother Samuel Klamm of Port O’Connor, sons Gage Stringo and George Hinsey, niece Abygail Gonzales, granddaughter, Amaya Stringo, grandmother, Ruth Jones of Flagstaff, AZ and Best Friend, David A. Cleveland. His extended family, Michael Donovan Cleveland and many aunts and uncles.

Richard-LunaSEADRIFT — Richard Gerrad Luna, 63 of Seadrift, lovingly known to most as “LA”, passed away suddenly, Saturday, September 4th, 2021, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Family and friends gathered for visitation Saturday, September 18th at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Hwy. in Victoria.

Richard was born August 31, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Celso, Jr.
and Pearl Gonzales Luna.

He achieved his Masters Degree from University of Houston-Victoria, he was always very proud of this accomplishment. LA worked as a pipefitter at Formosa Plastics for over 30 years, retiring in 2016. LA was an avid guitar player, self taught he could play anything he heard after one time of hearing it. He dearly loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycles. LA was a loyal member of the Mestizo Motorcycle Club, spending time with the other riders and club members was a favorite pass time for him. LA was also a very dedicated family man, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren any chance he could. LA will be deeply missed by many and will be cherished in the minds and hearts of all those he rode with and knew. LA was preceded in death by his parents, Celso and Pearl Luna.

LA is survived by his children, Levi Marek and Abbigayle Luna; his siblings, Michael Luna, Celso Luna, III, Judy Coats, Melinda Luna, Lorraine Luna Money, Joey Gonzales, and Paul Gonzales; the mother of his children, Patricia Strown; his beloved grandchildren, Braydon Marek and Phoenix Meitzen; his companion, Melanie Odell; and her children, David Odell, Samantha Tanton and her husband, Chris and Meghan Odell; and their children, Bryton Tanton, Brody Tanton, Jace Sprague and Elizabeth Sprague; along with numerous other loving family members, friends and club members.

Johnny-GonzalesJohnny Larry Gonzales, age 77, of Port O’Connor, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, at DeTar Hospital in Victoria, Texas. He was born on June 3, 1944, to Lorenzo Gonzales “Papaw” and Olivia Campbell Gonzales “Mamaw” in Nespelem, Washington.

He is survived by his wife Betty Ruth Gonzales; sons and daughters, Johnny Larry Gonzales II and wife Karen, Darryl Allen Brown and wife Melinda and Kristi Gale Kallus and husband Matt; siblings, Jerry Lee Gonzales, Victor John Gonzales, Daniel Roy Gonzales, Linda Hope Hesser, Joane McDonough, Joe and Frank Smith; grandchildren, Johnny Larry Gonzales III and wife Diana, Shelby Savonne Stone and husband Brandon, Jordan Taylor Gonzales, Ryan Christopher Brown, Madison Taylor Brown, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Duncan, William Trenton Duncan, James Cameron Duncan, Allison Kay Kallus and 7 great grandchildren, Jayden Alexander Gonzales, Cash Lawson Stone, Hayes Lawson Stone, Riggs Lawson Stone, Johnny Gabriel Gonzales, Luna Noelle Gonzales and Asher Reid Little; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as those who knew him as “Papa John”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth Roy Gonzales and granddaughter Mandalay Lynn Gonzales.

Like his dad, John worked for Cowdin Construction back in 1964, later to be an owner of Apollo Construction, Houston, TX. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, golf, bowling, throwing darts, shooting pool and of course playing Poker. He was pretty good at all of them. He even had several 300 games during his bowling league days.

Celebration of Life was held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Fisherman’s Chapel in Port O’Connor. His wish was to be cremated and have his ashes spread over the resting place of his parents in Port O’Connor Cemetery.

SEADRIFT — Thomas Earl Middaugh, age 74, of Seadrift, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021. He was born July 15, 1947 in Victoria to the late Joe Thomas and Evelyn Christine Middaugh.

Thomas proudly served in the US Marine Corp from 1967 – 1971. He loved fishing, oystering and loved being on the water. He was “Poppy” to everyone, but especially to his grandkids and great-grandkids which he loved so much; he loved to take his “rides” all around town and he was known for that.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Sharon Kay Middaugh; daughters, Wendy Talbott (Roger Cady) and Misty Best (Ronny); brother, Terry Dale Middaugh (Linda); sister, Paula JoAnn Moncrief; grandchildren, Thomas Talbott, Hillary Dedear, Austin Talbott, Michaela Harper, Christopher Harper (Megan), Haley Rae Harper, and Callie Wright (fiancé, Kolby Martin); great-grandchildren, KJ Olascuaga, Hayden Diaz, Kannon Olascuaga, Cole Talbott, Milam Martin, Kizer Martin, and Blair Harper. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services were held Friday, September 24, 2021 at First Assembly of God, Seadrift, Texas. Burial followed at Seadrift Cemetery with Full Military Honors Under the Auspices of the Calhoun County Combined Honor Guard.

Pallbearers were Thomas Talbott, Austin Talbott, Christopher Harper, Jr., Kolby Martin, Brandon Metcalfe, and Warren Jennings.
