Happenings at First Baptist Church by Diane Cooley

Is it possible that that summer is almost over, school will soon be starting and pumpkin decorations will be out everywhere? For some, the year has flown by. For others, it has been agonizingly slow. This past year has been filled with its own unique set of challenges to go along with our every day, ordinary challenges. Now COVID has decided to make another run at us! In Ecclesiastes 3:11 it says “He makes everything beautiful in its time”. We can count on that fact. Someday we will see the purpose in all this.

So many things are happening at First Baptist Church, new and ongoing. First TEAM KIDS, for first through fifth graders, started on August 18. If you have a child in that age group, or know of one, plan on them being a part of this fun new activity. Dinner will be served at 5:30 and then the fun and Bible study begins. For more information and to enroll your child, please call FBC at 983-2727.

On Saturday, September 4, under the pavilion at Kingfisher Beach, FBC will again be giving away free hot dogs at lunch time. It’s Labor Day weekend, so there will be a crowd. Make plans to enjoy lunch with FBC at the beach.

On Tuesday afternoons from 4:00-5:00 pm, the ladies Bible study is held . A new study will be beginning soon. Come join us for fellowship and great studies. The men meet for Bible study on the same day from 7:00-8:00 pm. Everyone is welcome.

Please join us for any or all of these activities. We also have plenty of volunteer opportunities for anyone with free time to fill. Sunday school for all ages starts at 10:00 a.m. Church is at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Tuesdays are Bible studies. Wednesday is TEAM KIDS at 5:30 p.m., older youth activities and Prayer Meeting at 6:00 p.m. FBC is waiting to welcome you.

Can’t say it was all “wedded bliss,”
BUT there’s one thing that I really wouldn’t miss –
Spending my life with you!
