Celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of the Grossgruendlach area of Nüremburg, and his 60th birthday, Dieter Erhard of Art Center/Seadrift, is hosting an exhibition of five of his art pieces floating on two of the area’s ponds. In conjunction with the city’s cultural department, a photo contest a and children’s contest are being held with the first prize of $1,200, a large signed special print on plexiglass of Dieter’s whale, as well as other prizes.

On hand for the exhibit and contest were Kaiser Heinrich the II. (Helmut Bresler) and city mayor Prof. Dr. Julia Lehner (pictured below with Dieter).

Swans, geese and ducks swim around and make the scenery even more attractive. UV light is on in the evenings, giving a very special atmosphere.

The show is on until September 30 2021. The Instagram community loves the show and its charming surroundings. You can see the exhibit images on #dietererhard.

NoralNoral McCauley, 61, passed away on the morning of June 15th, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born on October 24, 1959 to Ordith “MAC” and Pauline “Polly” (Viglini) McCauley in Randolph County, Illinois.

Noral was a POC transplant during the 70’s and was one of the most hard-headed but also giving people around. He was always helping during other locals’ benefits, donating to local youth initiatives, and a huge part of the POC recovery after Hurricane Harvey. He never met a stranger, and he was known as the Honorary Mayor of Port O’Connor. He was hilarious and could make people laugh even during their worst moments. He was a successful and fair entrepreneur who owned both Overboard Marine Services and POC Liquor Store, after spending many years as a dispatcher and salesman in the oil field. Most of all, he was an amazing and dedicated father.

He battled Hepatitis C and won, he fought a spinal tumor and traumatic brain injury for several years before he passed, and finally liver cancer got the best of him. He fought (in his stubborn McCauley ways) until the very last breath. He’s now with his brother, Mike McCauley and father, Ordith McCauley, fishing and carrying on past the pearly gates. He is FINALLY out of pain and in God’s hands! He is survived by his mother Polly McCauley, his daughter Kaleigh McCauley, his siblings Earl & Shelly McCauley, Gary & Paula McCauley, and Kathy & Ed Kinsey and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at the POC Community Center at 7 pm. All are welcome. Please bring your own chair and wear “Narley” beach-life casual and a smile! T-shirts in Noral’s memory are being created and will be available soon. There is also a bank account set up for donations at First National Bank of Port O’ Connor or checks can be mailed to P. O. Box 142, Port O’ Connor TX 77982 to help with the costs of medical bills and end-of-life arrangements.
