US Congressman Michael Cloud’s remarks on his recent visit:

“The men and women at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Port O’Connor are some of the hardest workers I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Just a couple of days before they helped make a life-saving rescue in the Matagorda Bay, I visited the Coast Guard station. I got to experience a day in the life of a Coastie and get a first-hand update on the operations along our coasts.
I have the utmost respect for how these service members protect our coasts and serve our nation day in and day out. Great work, and thank you on behalf of the people of District 27! May God bless them and protect them in all the work they do.”

Our family was so blessed to have known and loved this sweet little angel. Her kind, selfless soul touched us all.
We miss you, our Precious Peanut, but we know you are held in safe and loving arms until we see you again.

James did everything in life with passion, including rooting on his favorite sports teams, arguing his latest theory, loving his wife and two children and most recently being the best “PaPa”, he could be to his four grandchildren.
He was the youngest of seven siblings, preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Ortiz, Irene Smith, Ida Ann Philips and Miggie Dierlam; brothers, Frank Morgenroth, Jr. and Robert Morgenroth. James is survived by his wife, Vicky Morgenroth, daughter Kristyn Koch and her husband Stephen Koch, son Shea Morgenroth and his wife Jessy Morgenroth and his grandchildren, James and Stephen Koch and Quinn and Reese Morgenroth.

Fish Out of Water by Thomas Spychalski…

In times where this country and its individual states have faced crisis, we remained strong and collected and stood together to stamp out whatever ill stood in it’s way.

That is a ‘throwback ‘ for sure, because we seem to be using the coronavirus outbreak as a platform to back political ideals, when what we need now is to come together as a country (and a planet) and put aside these issues of petty politics and start addressing this outbreak together.

Of course, I’m not suggesting that every person can change it all, but we can do the little things: check on elderly neighbors, make sure to keep good hygiene, drink plenty of water and make sure we reach out to not only the elderly but those with limited mobility and mental health issues.

What we do not need to do is hoard water and toilet paper, use this pandemic to curry political favor and last, but not least, create mass hysteria by acting without kindness.

The western world has sadly been changed into a place where it is more common to look out for yourself than to lend a helping hand.

I implore everyone to be safe and follow the CDC and local news to keep in the loop about this virus and its effects and, with fingers crossed, maybe in a couple months this whole crazy scenario will have hopefully passed.

Be well, be safe and good wishes to you out there and all of your families.
