POC Women’s Service Club had a great month. Our garage sale raised a nice amount of money for our scholarship program, the bike rack is installed and being used, we had a bake goods and information booth at the Crawfish Fest and our Map project is progressing quickly.
We are fast approaching the deadline for being included on the POC Community Locator Map. If your business has not placed their order, do so today. After June 1, 2015 you will not be able to add your spot to the map. For only $50, you can have a personalized advertising spot on the huge POC map posted at Kingfisher Beach providing information and advertising impact for very little money! Massive kudos to Chamber for all their hard work! 2015 Crawfish Festival was epic with great food, wonderful music, fun booths and activities. Everyone really enjoyed the event. We know how much work is involved. Great Job Ya’ll!
Service Club is producing a new 2015 Cookbook with new cooking categories and great recipes. More recipes are needed, so call to include yours. A very few remaining copies of the previous cookbooks are still available. Get yours from a club member before they are gone for good.
Service Club has received applications from local students for 2015 scholarship awards. The Scholarship Committee is meeting and will be announcing the winners soon. Recipients should be included in the next column.
We invite all interested women to join our club and get in on the fun. We meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday during the month of May and only the 1st Thursday during summer months at the POC Community Center. All interested women are invited to visit and see if you would like to join us.
