The Port Lavaca Main Street Theatre is currently presenting the third production of the 2014-15 season. “The Cover of Life” opened on Friday, September 12.

The play is written by R.T. Robinson and being directed by Randy Wachtel. The play is about three brides in rural Louisiana in 1943 who are married to three brothers who are off fighting in World War II. LIFE Magazine sends reporter Kate Miller to do a feature story on the girls for the cover of LIFE. Kate spends a week with the women, living with them and absorbing all aspects of their daily lives and rituals. The depths of their stories and lives affect Kate more than she could have possibly imagined. Filled with charm, fun and incredible depth, “The Cover of Live” is a riveting story about the struggle for self-worth.

Three performances remain: Septmber19 and 20 at 8 pm and a final showing on Sunday September 21 at 2:00 pm. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, or a 2014-15 season ticket. For more information please email plmstheatre@yahoo.com or find them on Facebook.

Aug. 6: Port O’Connor VFD and Seadrift VFD responded to Hwy 185 near the Sanctuary for a grass fire, Port Lavaca FD also responded.

Aug. 11: Seadrift VFD and Port O’Connor VFD responded to Carabajal Road for a structure fire, Port Lavaca FD also responded.

Aug. 14: Seadrift VFD and Port Lavaca FD responded to the Hwy 35 & Hwy 185 intersection for a small grass fire.

Aug. 22: Seadrift VFD and Port Lavaca FD responded to Quail Meadow Road for a grass fire.

Aug. 24: Seadrift VFD and Port Lavaca FD responded to Fisher Smith Road for a one-vehicle accident, also assisted EMS with a Life Flight helicopter landing.
