PORT O’CONNOR, TX — novusweb, llc, a local web engineering and marketing firm, announced the creation of a Visitor Center that is scheduled for opening on July 1, 2012. The center will provide free information on recreation, special events, guided trips, vacation rentals and real estate to tourists and travelers to the POC area.

The “POC Visitor Center” will be located at 2337 W Adams Ave, a few blocks east of Byers Drive. The center will be open to the public from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Thursday through Monday.
“We consider the center a long-overdue asset for this community,” explained Bret Williams, President & CEO of novusweb, llc. “Port O’Connor is one of the few tourist and outdoor recreation destinations that does not have an information center to assist visitors to our area.”

Williams said that the POC Visitor Center will provide free information to visitors. However, explained Williams, the information we provide will be selected based on participation of local businesses.

“The POC Visitor Center will be operated as a for-profit entity,” said Williams. The businesses, guides, lodges, and more that we promote to visitors will be those that subscribe as Gold level members of PortOConnor.com.” PortOConnor.com has been the number one on-line search result for Port O’Connor information for many years. “We are now taking PortOConnor.com to a new level,” said Williams. “Local businesses and organizations can list themselves at several levels. We also offer a free basic listing to any bona fide entity.” Those who list at the highest level will also be promoted at the POC Visitor Center. “We want to promote those local businesses and organizations that are committed to participating in marketing Port O’Connor. The more that participate, the more we can do to bring more people to our area to enjoy all we have to offer.”

Williams and his wife, Cyndi, moved to Port O’Connor in January of this year. “We’ve been coming to POC since the 1980’s to visit relatives and to enjoy the area with our three sons,” explained Mrs. Williams. “Bret and I are looking forward to doing everything we can to help others learn more about all the area has to offer, not only to fishing fans, but to families, birders, and anyone who loves the Texas Gulf Coast.”

Local businesses interested in being promoted to visitors at the POC Visitors Center should contact novusweb at (886) 668-8793.
